About the 96th Flying Training Squadron
The world-famous Fighting Desert Jackrabbits of the 96th Flying Training Squadron is an AETC Associate IP unit, integrating with the 47th Flying Training Wing to support the UPT mission at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. 96th FTS pilots are qualified to fly T-1A, T-6A, or T-38C aircraft. Previous AETC instructor experience desired and previous Aircraft Commander experience is highly desired. Minimum squadron participation is 72 days a year, with opportunities to work full-time, both as a Traditional Reservist or an AGR. Scheduling is flexible, with only 2 mandatory Unit Training Assemblies per year (Spring & Fall), with all other Unit Training Assembly periods scheduled around the member's availability. Reserve sign up bonuses are available for Palace Front transitions from the Active Duty, and yearly Aviation Bonuses for AGR positions. Unit will send member to airframe specific PIT course if required. Our unit does not have UPT slots, applicants must already be an an experienced military pilot.

How to Visit/Rush the Squadron
Anyone interested in rushing the unit is welcome Monday through Friday with prior coordination through the Chief Pilot. Again, our unit does not sponsor UPT slots. Applicants should be rated.
