About the 108th Air Refueling Squadron
The 108th Air Refueling Squadron, located at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is looking for exceptional individuals to join the ranks of our KC-135 pilots. As a member of the 108th ARS, you will take command of the legendary KC-135 Stratotanker. This aircraft has been the cornerstone of the U.S. Air Force's aerial refueling fleet for over six decades, flawlessly executing missions vital to extending the global reach of the U.S. military. As a KC-135 pilot you will support a wide range of critical operations including aerial refueling, aeromedical evacuations, and cargo and personnel transport.
Joining the Illinois Air National Guard offers a unique opportunity to balance a civilian career with part-time military service. As a traditional guardsman, you will be expected to attend monthly Unit Training Assemblies, fly the historic War Wagon at least 3 times a month, and participate in Temporary Duty Assignments (TDYs) and deployments, allowing you to maintain your civilian job while serving your country. Beyond our federal mission, the Wing also supports the state of Illinois during emergencies such as natural disasters.
Scott Air Force Base is ideally situated just 19 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, placing a world of recreational and cultural activities at your fingertips. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or a city-dweller, you'll find something to love:
- Outdoor Adventures: Explore the beautiful landscapes of Southern Illinois and Eastern Missouri with fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and hiking.
- Professional Sports: Catch the excitement of a St. Louis Cardinals MLB game, St. Louis City MLS match or a St. Louis Blues NHL game.
- Vibrant City Life: Enjoy live music, a diverse culinary scene, and a wide array of cultural events in and around the St. Louis metropolitan area.
