Job Description

Greetings from Savannah!

The 165th Guard Dawgs are actively seeking motivated applicants who aspire to earn a commission, attend pilot training, and pursue a career flying the best aircraft of all time — the C-130J Super Hercules!

Selected candidates will commission as officers in the Georgia Air National Guard initially as a Drill Status Guardsmen (DSG); however, during training they will be on Title 10 Active Orders. Once the training is complete, members typically return to a DSG status; however, opportunities to apply for full-time employment—either as a Federal Civil Service Technician or in an Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) position—may become available.

Regardless of status, members are expected to maintain a high level of operational readiness and worldwide deployment capability as a C-130J Pilot following training. The 165th Airlift Wing continues to support the domestic and global mission which yields an incredibly rewarding but demanding career! Executing tactical airlift requires a dedication to study, training, aircraft currencies, and other tasks to adapt to an evolving battlefield and mission.
